Nautical Nursery

Let’s start this post off with the funniest part to give you all a laugh. It was July 2016, I was getting ready to do my baby registry, & had decided on a theme of “Anchors.” At this point, we bought our very first baby purchase. It was a blue top & bottoms, with white & navy anchors on it. We get in the car to head home & I text my mom a picture of the outfit. She replies something along the lines of “aww its nautical!” I read the message & think…. well no…. it’s not really that neutral…. I say this and she replies with the word ‘Nautical’ again. I then google the word as I had never heard it before hahaha so embarrassing! I start telling hubby and he instantly says “You didn’t know what nautical meant?!?!?!” Just added to how embarrassed I already was. I now feel the need to text several people (one being my niece that is 7 years younger than me) to find out if I’m really the only one that didn’t know this word. And YUP! Everyone knew what it meant. My niece laughed at me, along with everyone else. And now the theme of his room has this hilarious story behind it that we will remember forever.

Now onto everything in & about Grayson’s nursery! Before we had even got pregnant, I knew I wanted the furniture to be grey. Any colour I would then add to the room would work if we were having a boy or girl. My father-in-law bought us the crib & dresser from Babies R Us. Majority of the items/furniture in Mr’s room is from either Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby We started by patching holes in the room, painting it, new flooring & trim, & a new window. All so his room would have the best! There is no closet in his room so I had to search high & low to find a grey wardrobe that met all my requirements. (outside shelves & inside bars for hangers & bonus if included additional storage spots) After both of my baby showers, everything quickly came together. We then couldn’t wait to welcome our little bundle of joy! I will always love the theme of his room & always laugh at how it came together! Here are tons of pictures of all the little details! 

Starting from the top picture I will link all the items that I can &/Or let you know where I got them! (Sorry for anyone who doesn’t have a Babies R Us anymore as that’s where a lot of items are from.)

Crib & Dresser – Jonesport Convertible Crib & Jonesport Double Dresser

Drift Wood With Anchors – This was a very special gift from a friend I met when I was 5 years old. She got the drift wood from a local wood mill. It is over 100 years old! She dried it out, treated it, and then added the anchor hooks! It is something we use every single day! 

Glider – I actually can’t find it anymore! It was from Babies R Us. Everyone said we didn’t need a rocker or glider. That they were more of a show piece. But the day we got home from the hospital, Mr went directly into his crib. I never nursed in bed until he was 1.5, so I used this glider all day every day & absolutely love it!

Anchor Muslim Blanket – Thyme Maternity 

“First We Had Each Other” – Baby shower gift from one of my best friends Xo

Growth Chart – Made by a good friend & I still haven’t put it up on the wall haha 

“Ahoy It’s A Boy” – Baby shower decor/gift from my mom. The same lady made it that made the “First We Had Each Other” Board 

Stuffed Animals & Keepsakes – From different friends & family members. 

Wardrobe – Ikea I also can’t find this anymore either. It was in the kids section.

Blankets – Sadie & Scout Brand. All from Babies R Us that can now be purchased on Amazon & Wayfair 

Family In The Window – A gift from my niece. Not exactly sure where she got it. 

Little Elephant & Anchor Decor – Elephant was gifted to Grayson along with the big one on top of his wardrobe from his aunt & uncle. (Purchased in Belize) Anchor things were decor from my baby shower. 

Book Shelf – Its from Buy Buy Baby but their site doesn’t have that exact one anymore. Its a sling bookshelf. 

Aquarium – Baby Einstein Aquarium We have used this every single night since Mr was 1 month old! 

Giant Bear – It was from Costco gifted to Mr on his 1st birthday from his Grandpa & Nanny
